4 year terms (22nd amendment limits possible terms to two)

Roles of the President:
- Chief Executive: Runs the executive branch of the government
- Chief Legislator: Can sign or veto bills that come from Congress
- Party Leader: Lead his political party- support party bills and candidates
- Chief Diplomat: Negotiates treaties with other countries
- Commander in Chief: Makes important military decisions
- Crisis Manager: dealing with sudden, unpredictable, and potentially dangerous events
